Royal Lyceum Theatre

The Club Design Agency was approached by one of Scotlands principal theatre and opera houses to help deliver a print design brochure outlining the successes from one of their schools’ projects. Project Scrooge has been developed by Lyceum Creative Learning in partnership with City of Edinburgh schools and City of Edinburgh Council’s ‘Arts & Creative Learning Department’.

Project Goals

Teachers and Pupils at fourteen schools, worked in partnership with Lyceum Creative Learning over a period of several months, on an inter-disciplinary creative learning project inspired by The Lyceum’s production of Charles Dickens’ A Christmass Carrol. The theatre wanted to communicate the success of the project to attendees and stakeholders though a printed communication.

Our Solution

The Club created and print managed a beautiful A4 portrait report for the Lyceum’s Creative Learning project. The short 12-page document introduces the key aims of the project. Through a collection of stunning photographs, quotes from participants and timetables from the Project Scrooge sessions, we lovingly told the story of this project and its impact on pupil learning.

Results

Hundreds of pupils were inspired through expressive arts sessions to create their own artistic responses to the play. They also visited the theatre for an access all areas tour and to make props for their own plays. During the final week of the Project, the pupils shared their individual creative responses with their wider school community. The project documents that success and helps guarantee future commitment to the Lyceum schools programme.
